I’m, Alexander Jacobi a portrait & documentary photographer and PhD Candidate in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. I believe that portrait photography can act as a record of a moment in history - a moment which is as precious as it is fleeting. As such, I use portraiture to get out into the world and photographically pay homage to the ephemeral moments of human connection that will only ever exist once.

I have 2 ongoing photo projects: ‘The Student Body’, where I document life at Wilfrid Laurier University through portraits of students, staff, and faculty; and ‘Artisan Ontario’, where I make portraits of Ontario's independent makers and creatives.
